Cub Scouting is for young people who are 8 - 11 years of age. Children of 8 years of age have already passed through their first stages of development (Beavers) and are ready to discover the wider world and find out and experiment with it. The young person of Cub scout age will experience many changes in their lives. Cub Scouting aims to assist this development in a natural way by being aware of the needs of young people of this age group and designing and running programmes and activities that compliment this developmental progression.

Here in the Waterford Scout County we have a very active County Programme throughtout the year for the Macaoimh /Cub Scouts.
