Last Sunday the 24th June saw the official opening of Glenshelane Scout Campsite and Cabin, followed by the presentation of awards to members of the 4th Waterford.
25 year service medals were presented to Jim Shine, Vincient O’Mahony, Brian ‘Muller’ Mulvihill and Fintin Strain.
20 year service medals was presented to Geoff Shephard.
10 year service medal awarded to Brendan Kiersey.
5 year service medal was presented to William Whelan.
Silver Merit Award was awarded to Fintin Strain.
Thank you pins were presented Dennis Slattery and Colin Carthy(on behalf of his son Neill). Clan Leaders Patrick Dunphy and Ruairi Conway were presented on behalf of the 4th Waterford Scouting Ireland Community Award.
After all the presentations were made Fr Nicholas Mahony blessed the cabin and Michael John Shinnick – Chief Commissioner of Adult Resources – cut the ribbon. After that we were served light refreshments and the cake was cut.
