Venture scouts is for young adults between the ages of 15 – 19. This is their final stage in the progression to adulthood. The programme is mainly activity based, being run by themselves for themselves. The leaders role in Ventures is purely as a facilitator to make sure everything runs smoothly and to offer advice.

A committee is elected each year which includes a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and one or two others. They will meet on a regular basis outside of regular meeting times to organise the programme for the coming weeks. Typical events run by the Ventures on a County level include a hike to Ireland's highest point, Carauntoohill, a long weekend in London, attending the National Black Tie Ball in Dublin and quad biking.

There are four venturer groups in the Waterford Scout County. The Waterford Scout County Venturer group (an amalgamation of several groups in the county who meet in the De La Salle den in Stephen's Street), the Sacred Heart venturer group, Abbeyside venture group and the Middle Earth ventures (serving the Tramore and Dunhill area).
